Sprocket & Sprout 2.1: Overseas

2.1 opens the Harbor, and brings together every fix and update since 2.0. Play it here. Your farm from 2.0 comes with you.

The Harbor

Late in the game, after the tram runs, the town can rebuild the old harbor warehouse at the beach pier. Once it's open, the merchant ship the Copper Gull calls with a manifest from a port across the sea: three to five goods in huge amounts, like 300 iron bars, 600 brass gears or 2,000 glass.

  • Each port wants different things. Brassmouth buys metal and parts, Port Verdance food and preserves, the Ember Isles wine and luxuries, Saltspire timber, rope and canvas, and Kettleholm tea, baking and cloth.
  • A manifest only asks for goods in season that your farm has made.
  • Everything pays as it goes aboard, well above the market. Fill a manifest and you get a big bonus, and the ship sails a day early.
  • Six ranks with the Harbor, from Dockhand to Merchant Prince.

Orders

  • Track any order. A checklist shows under your quest and ticks off each item as it goes in. Up to four at once.
  • Orders follow the seasons. No bread or flour in winter, when no grain grows.
  • Later research costs less and climbs more evenly.

Machines

  • Arms keep loading a machine while it works, about ten minutes ahead, instead of waiting for each batch.
  • The field gantry's seed bin has no limit.
  • Drills bring up rare ores more slowly: iron at under half the speed of copper, gold at about a seventh.

On Windows

There's now one download for Windows, a Setup installer. If your browser doesn't offer to install the game, the title screen shows a Download for Windows button.
