Pixel RTS and Verdant Relay are now in playtest, alongside Arcwarm and Overgrowth. That means they're ready for playtesters: play them, and tell me what worked and what didn't.
Overgrowth 0.6 and 0.7
0.6: Blight Blooms. Every dawn, a few glowing pods sprout out in the forest, each guarded by Blightlings. Cut one down for rare loot and favour with the Heartwood. Leave it, and at dusk it opens a new lane onto the Heart all night. So each day is a choice: hunt the blooms, or build to cover the flank they'll open. 0.6 also added grass meadows, forest clutter to pick up, and a better sprint.
0.7: The Title. Overgrowth now opens like a finished game:
- A live title screen, with the camera drifting round the Heartwood at sunset and its own title music
- Three difficulties: Verdant, Warden and Blightborn
- A Field Guide with portraits, stats and lore for every Blight and defence
- Lifetime records across every run
- A proper pause menu, and a menu that works from the keyboard
Full notes are in the changelog.
Pixel RTS: a painted map
The map got a full graphics pass: painted terrain, farmland and scenery. You can now move the camera with WASD too. Play it here.
Arcwarm: autumn
Pinehollow is now an autumn forest. Play it here.
