Fins & Fronds is out, free in your browser. Play it here.
You get the keys to an empty fish shop. Set up a tank, landscape it with sand, stone, driftwood and plants, stock it, and keep the water right. Visitors pay to see your tanks, though you never see them, only their nose prints on the glass.
What's in it
- 189 species and 153 scape items, every one drawn as pixel art, from neon tetras and kuhli loaches to corals, jellyfish and sharks.
- 63 tank types the game recognizes, from a community tank to an Iwagumi stone garden, Rio Negro blackwater, a Lake Malawi rock shore, brackish mangroves and reefs. Each tank gets a report card: wellbeing, habitat, scape, authenticity and spectacle.
- Real water chemistry: the nitrogen cycle, pH, hardness, salinity and oxygen. Fish that don't belong together will tell you.
- A shop that grows through six tiers, from a Little Fish Shop with one window tank to a Grand Oceanarium with ten display bays.
- Expeditions to 27 regions for new species, letters from visitors, and stock racks that breed fish to sell.
- Watch mode: press V to watch any tank full screen.
It also has a larger interface option, colorblind-safe colors and touch controls in the menu.
